BISTU Held the 2nd General Assembly of the 3rd Session Alumni Association

Beijing, 29th November 2025 (BISTU)--- The 2nd General Assembly of the 3rd Session of BISTU Alumni Association was held on 29th November 2025. President Guo Fu addressed the Assembly attended by Vice Chairperson Xin Hongguang of University Council, Vice President Zhang Jian, Lin Guoce (Assistant to the President), board directors and board supervisors of BISTU Alumni Association, and representatives of alumni. The meeting was hosted by Director Ma Xiangyu of Office of Alumni Services.

Guo Fu extended warm greetings to all alumni and expressed sincere thanks for their support with BISTU development. Alumni are the most valuable assets of BISTU, the strongest foundation of BISTU development, and the most vibrant carrier of BISTU philosophies. He stressed that the University, centering on the general guideline of “building a better image, strengthening the cohesion, providing better service, and boosting development”, has made remarkable progresses. And all these achievements owed much to care and support of all alumni. He hoped that in the first place alumni network could be constantly being perfected so that it will become a spiritual home to all BISTUers. Second, a platform of interconnectivity would be established among BISTU, alumni, and industries to motivate coordination and promote two-bound empowerment. And third, BISTU Alumni Association would continue to enhance the quality of services to provide even better support with alumni. And he extended sincere invitation to all alumni to return to BISTU as a chance of reliving their college life, reconnecting with former schoolmates and teachers, and exploring future possibilities.

A work report was delivered by Xin Hongguang on behalf of the 3rd Session Board of Supervisors. He pointed out that the Board of Supervisors will make sure all work is to be done in a legal manner, including decision making procedure, donation management, financial auditing, etc.

Zhang Jian delivered a work report on behalf of the 3rd Session Board of Directors. He pointed out that BISTU Alumni Association has made great progresses in building a shared community of career, emotion and future between alumni and BISTU. He added that we were still facing with a number of challenges, such as the gap between services we provided and demands of alumni, the coverage of branch associations, etc. Future efforts would be invested in strengthening construction of intelligent platforms, carrying forward the spirit of “diligence and honor”, and sharing resources.

Deputy Director Yang Jing of Department of Finance delivered the 2025 Financial Report for the 3rd Session Board of Directors. All funds were allocated with reasonable management costs under legal framework for the purpose of scholarships, alumni activities, facilities update, etc. and all income and expenditure were independently audited. Yang Jing said.

Five reports were delivered on “Alumni Seminar”. Deputy Director Tang Kai of Institute of Advanced Technology Development and Research explained progresses in research platform construction and industry-learning-research coordinated innovation. Deputy Director Wu Yingnian shared measures and achievements of the University in cultivation of innovative talents. Dou Maochuan, a student of College of Computer Science and a winner of “Challenge Cup” First Prize, shared his experience of attending the contest. Gao Yuwei, an alumnus graduated in 2011 from College of Computer Science, explored the applied value of scientific data in research and industries. Liu Ming, an alumnus graduated in 2002 from College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, shared his thinking and practices in corporate digital transformation.

The Alumni Association will continue to provide high-quality services with all alumni with the working philosophy of “providing better service, achieving innovation-oriented development, abiding by legal standards, serving with dedication, and building cultural bonds” so as to contribute to our goal of building a high level university with distinctive feature in information technology.
