
Beijing, 21st January 2026 (BISTU)--- The signing ceremony for strategic cooperation among BISTU, Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT), and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) was held at CUIT on 19th January 2026. The ceremony was attended by President Guo Fu and Vice President Zhang Jian of BISTU, President Chen Haishan and Vice President Liu Jia of NUIST, and Chairperson Shen Huoming, President He Jianxin, and Vice President Luo Xiaorong of CUIT. It was hosted by Vice President Shu Hongping of CUIT.

Guo Fu offered an introduction to the University and pointed out that BISTU, since its founding 89 years ago, has always aligned itself with the priorities of our nation—moving from "industrial salvation" to "national service through industrialization" and now to "strengthening the nation through information technology." Generation after generation of BISTU scholars have dedicated themselves to this mission while shaping the university into what it is today: a distinguished leader in applied research, information technologies, and high-level talent development within critical industries. The University has built five research fields of strength, i.e., intellisense, intelligent control, intelligent equipment, intelligent computing, and intelligent decision-making. He expressed that the agreements would offer a precious opportunity to establish a coordination mechanism to serve national key strategies and regional social and economic high-quality development.

Chen Haishan introduced NUIST. As a “Double First-Class” university, NUIST is well-known for its discipline of Atmospheric Science and has made remarkable achievements in interdisciplinary integration and serving regional economic development. He expressed that cooperation among the three universities would be able to pool complementary strengths to make greater contributions to our nation.

Shen Huoming extended warm greetings to all guests. He pointed out that cooperation among the three universities responded well to national innovation-driven development strategy. The three universities, with the same objectives of pursuing excellence and serving the nation, are based respectively on three major economic zones, i.e., Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei zone, Yangtze River Delta zone, and Chengdu-Chongqing Economic zone. He expressed that CUIT would take active moves to strengthen cooperation among the three universities.

The agreements were signed by presidents of the three universities. In the principle of “equality, voluntariness, complementary advantages, resource sharing, and mutual benefit”, the three universities would conduct cooperation in six major fields inclusive of talent cultivation and academic research.


The strategic cooperation among the three universities marked the beginning of in-depth educational resource integration among Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei zone, Yangtze River Delta zone, and Chengdu-Chongqing Economic zone and indicated future joint efforts in cultivating new quality productive forces.

Guo Fu also visited Chengdu Jiu Jin Technology Co., Ltd., a high-tech enterprise, and BISTU Sichuan-Chongqing Association to strengthen the links with enterprises and alumni.

President Zhou Keji of Chengdu Jiu Jin Technology Co., Ltd. met with Guo Fu. Both parties reached consensus on future cooperation in the field of talent cultivation and commercialization of research findings.
Guo Fu held talks with alumni based in Sichuan and Chongqing. He extended thanks to alumni for their care and support and expected that the Sichuan-Chongqing alumni association would be a bridge of exchange and communication for high-quality development of BISTU and Sichuan-Chongqing area.
The event was joined by directors and deans of the President’s Office, Department of Academic Affairs, Department of Development Strategy and Planning, Office of Industrial Integration, Office of External Liaison, Office of Alumni Association, and College of Information and Communication Engineering.
