Beijing, 10th September 2026 (BISTU)--- Themed on “promoting the spirit of educators and fostering an atmosphere of valuing teachers and education”, the commendation meeting for 2026 Teachers’ Day was held at BISTU Shahe Campus on 9th September 2026. The commendation meeting aimed to celebrate the 42nd Teachers’ Day and commend outstanding teams and individuals in teacher, research and services. It also paid tribute to faculty and staff who have been working for thirty years or longer and those who have just retired this year. Chairman Xie Jiangling of the University Council addressed the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Vice President Mi Jie and attended by other senior administrators who were currently present, all chairpersons, deans, directors and deputy directors of BISTU colleges and departments, representatives of commended teachers, representatives of those who have been working for thirty years or longer and those who have just retired this year, teachers who joined BISTU in 2026, and representatives of teachers and students.

The meeting commenced with group art performances, followed by the national anthem singing by all attendees of the meeting.

Xie Jiangling extended warm congratulations to all award winners, paid tribute to faculty and staff who have been working for thirty years or longer and retired teachers, expressed warm welcome to new teachers, and extended heartfelt gratitude and holiday greetings all faculty and staff members of the University. Owing to dedication and devotion of BISTU teachers, the University has made a series of progresses in the past year. He added that it was necessary to keep a sober mind and put stricter and higher standards on ourselves. All teachers shall follow the principle of “diligence and honor” and focus on educational morality, wellbeing of students, and academic discipline. We should work together to build an educational environment that is clean and upright, united, and striving forward. The future of BISTU would be even brighter. He said.

The commendation meeting was composed of three parts- Preeminence, Role models, and tribute – to commend faculty and staff members who have made outstanding contributions to BISTU.

Xie Jiangling presented awards to winners of annual honors in party building, National Ten Thousand Talent Program for Young Top-notch Talents, leading talents of Beijing Municipality, top educational awards of Beijing Municipality, gold medals of supervisors for Challenge Cup series, outstanding party members, etc.

Vice Chairman Wang Wenjie and Vice Chairman Shi Zhenjun of the University Council presented awards to winners in the field of party building and ideological and political education to commend their excellent performance in serving teachers and students.

Vice Chairman Xin Hongguang of the University Council and Vice President Wang Xingfen presented certificates to winners of educational awards to commend their efforts and contributions to growth of students.

Vice President He Wei and Vice President Li Huatao presented certificates to winners of scientific and technological innovation awards to commend their resolution and achievements in sci-tech exploration.

Director Du Shizhi of Publicity Department and Ying Shuzhi, Assistant to the President, presented certificates to winners of awards in administrative affairs and services.

Wang Wenjie announced the name lists of teachers who have been working for 30 years or longer and those who have just retired this year. As of 2026, 25 of BISTU faculty and staff members have been working for 30 years. And 20 teachers retired this year. Their devotion in the past decades provided a vivid explanation of contribution and glory.

Xie Jiangling presented certificates of honor to teachers who have been working for 30 years and those who have just tired. Students paid their tributes to teachers with flower bouquets.

BISTU Folk Dance Society presented the dance Pomegranate Flowers in Bloom. They paid tribute to the teachers’ guidance and devotion, symbolizing that all faculty and students of the university would advance shoulder to shoulder with one heart to a better future.

Zhang Tao and Chen Xiumei, two frontline teachers of the University, shared their experiences of teaching. Their touching stories showcased teachers of BISTU in “teaching with love and nurturing with heart”.

The poetry recitation performed by teachers expressed the passion and resolution of teachers in passing the torch of education from one generation to the next.

All attendees of the meeting received a specially-prepared gift: gift that will grow. They would need to open it and water it by themselves. It is just like the philosophy of education: we sow seeds and water them with love; and then we wait patiently for them to grow and bloom.

The meeting concluded with a group photo. It demonstrated the positive ethos of teachers and their fruitful achievements. The university would continue to promote the spirit of educators and remain committed to its mission of cultivating talent for the Party and the country. Standing at the starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan, BISTU would make new contributions on the journey of fostering virtue through education.
