Beijing, 2nd April 2026 (BISTU)--- BISTU has been rated A+ for seven consecutive years since 2019, according to the recent notice on University Robotics Competition Index published by National Virtual Office for Faculty Teaching Development Research and Chinese Association of Automation. It makes BISTU one of the few universities ranking top1% of China.

The University Robotics Competition Index serves as an authoritative appraisal system measuring comprehensive strengths of universities’ performance in robotics competitions. There are only 9 universities being rated A among all 994 higher educational institutions, including BISTU, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Harbin University of Technology, etc..

The honor highlighted BISTU’s traditional strengths in robotics learning and research. The year 2025 saw a series of achievements that the University has made in this regard: around one hundred awards in state-level competitions such as RoboCup China Open and China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition; a bronze medal in RoBoLeague where BISTU’s Blaze competed against traditional powerhouses such as teams of Tsinghua University and China Agricultural University; and a gold medal and a bronze medal in World Humanoid Robot Games where BISTU was the core organizer. BISTU has also been organizing North China Five Provinces University Students Robotics Competition for 12 years in a row. The Competition attracted teams from more than 110 universities inclusive of Tsinghua University, Beihang University, Tianjin University, etc.
Future efforts would be invested in facilitating learning, teaching and innovation through competitions. An “intelligence plus industries” dual-drive learning scenario would be constructed to perfect the talent cultivation system for robotics. The University would also provide due support with students in competitions, aiming to nurture outstanding innovative talents in robotic technology and industry.
