The 13th China Beijing International Magic Carnival and World College Magic Exchange Convention Opened at BISTU

Beijing, 5th December 2025 (BISTU) --- The 13th China Beijing International Magic Carnival and World College Magic Exchange Convention grandly opened on 5th December 2025 at Shahe Campus of BISTU. The Carnival was jointly sponsored by China Acrobats Association, China Youth Daily (CYD), Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Changping District Government, and BISTU and co-organized by Beijing Acrobats Association, Changping District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and CYD Head (Beijing) International Communication Co., Ltd. The opening ceremony was attended by administrators of Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, China Acrobats Association, China Children’s Press and Publication Group, China Youth Daily (CYD), Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Beijing Radio and Television Station, SINOPEC, BISTU, and Changping District Government as well as magicians, faculty and students of Beijing-based universities, and magician enthusiasts.

Themed on “A wonderland in Magic Changping”, the Carnival is aimed at implementing President Xi Jinping’s important instructions on development of tourism, strengthen school-local government integration, and enhance the role of magic in boosting consumption. The Carnival greeted magicians and distinguished guests from China, Russia, France, Brazil, South Korea, Peru, etc.

The Carnival was jointed launched by Chairman Bian Faji of China Acrobats Association, Vice Chairman Tang Yanhai of China Acrobats Association, Editor-in-Chief Dong Shi of China Youth Daily, Executive Vice Chairman Ma Xinming of Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Mayor Liu Xiaodong of Changping District Government, President Guo Fu of BISTU, Second-tier Inspector Li Hui of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and Vice Mayor Leng Qiangtian of Changping District Government.

Audiences witnessed the moments of magic in three chapters, i.e., inheritance and tribute, cross-boundary and integration, and innovation and development. Magic performances showed a blending of classic techniques, new media, everyday life, intangible cultural heritage, etc. Frontier philosophies of magic, bold innovation, and infinite imagination combined together to show audiences the vitality of magic in a new era.

A series of events were incorporated in the Carnival, such as meetings on innovative development of magic, campus magic show, public welfare performance tour, etc. The 2026 Spring Festival would see a Beijing Magic Carnival, an extension of the Carnival.

BISTU attached great importance to the Carnival. A work group headed by Vice President He Wei was established and included the President’s Office, Publicity Department, Department of Student Affairs, Department of Facilities and Maintenance Management, Department of Campus Security, University Information and Network, Department of Physical Education, and CCYL BISTU University Committee. Key missions including volunteer recruitment and training, inter-school liaison, logistic services, internet service, campus security, meeting organization, etc. were successfully completed. The Carnival highlighted the positive spirit of BISTU faculty and students, lifted BISTU’s social reputation and influence, and made BISTU-marked contributions to school-local government integration.
