Beijing, 16th December 2025 (BISTU)--- Themed on “Voicing yourself and sailing off for future”, the “Meeting with the Chairperson” event was held on 16th December 2025 at Shahe Campus. Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council held talks with representatives of students newly registered in 2025 and other students to share thoughts and plan for future.

Centering on growth of young generation, Xie Jiangling encouraged students to have a firm faith, become a pragmatic doer, work as a well-balanced role model, and act as a devoted guardian of the campus. He offered five highlights as reference for students. First, students shall establish an attainable and practical goal and then work towards it in steps and with perseverance. Second, a good habit in life, reading and exercising shall be cultivated to strengthen the quality of self-discipline. Third, it is necessary to keep a positive attitude towards life. Fourth, it is not advisable to rush into a mission or a job. Growth can be achieved via accumulation of experiences, or even failures. And fifth, it is a must to follow moral standards and live with reverence for rules and nature. Students shall become runners for their future with hope and vision. Xie Jiangling added.

Vice President Xiao Zhisong and Vice President He Wei shared their thoughts of personal and academic growth with students.

Representatives of students discussed their life and learning at BISTU. Two students shared their stories of working hard to make progressed in academic subject competitions and joining chorus for commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Xie Jiangling and students jointly completed “blueprint of BISTU”, a jigsaw composed of landmark buildings of BISTU indicating that students and the University would work collaboratively towards a shining future.

Souvenirs specially prepared for the students were presented by Xie Jiangling, Xiao Zhisong, and He Wei.

The event was attended by Director Niu Zhiying of Publicity Department, directors of relating BISTU departments, and representatives of faculty and students.
