
Beijing, 27th November 2025 (BISTU)--- A dialogue on learning and individual growth was held on 26th November 2025 between President Guo Fu and all students majoring in Electronic Information (the first cohort of this international program) at College of Information and Communication Engineering. The event was hosted by Dean Li Xuehua of the College.

President Guo Fu commented that a systematic learning pathway shall incorporate in-class learning, high-efficient note-making, and taking exams in a scientific way. He explained how to achieve a balance between learning and personal development, how to better use learning resources, and how to build a sound teacher-student relationship from the perspective of time management, resources integration, faculty-student interaction, and cultivation of learning habits. It is guidance for holistic development of students. Students shall be able to define their own college experience. Guo Fu said.


Students raised quite some questions on college learning, career planning, and how to enhance global mutual understanding. President Guo Fu shared his own experience of studying and doing research in cross-cultural environment. He encouraged students to walk out of the comfort zone in a proactive manner to become the bridge connecting China and the world.

An innovative photo composed of smiling faces of all students in this program was presented to President Guo Fu as a gift to show cohesion and warmth of the class. Guo Fu reciprocated the gift with a passport holder tailored for each student wishing that they would “embrace the world and set sail for future”.
Directors of Academic Affairs Department, Department of Admissions and Career Services, and Department of International Affairs were invited to provide answers to relating questions about support with innovative projects, course mapping with international institutions, credit transfer, etc. College of Information and Communication Engineering will coordinate with all departments of the University to build a multi-dimensional platform for international exchange and communication for all students.

The dialogue broke away from traditional model of communication and offered a vivid explanation of “student-centered” educational philosophy. It successfully brought the idea of “defining our own college experience” to the possibility of actual realization. Students commented that they would work diligently on learning knowledge and broadening global horizon.
