Beijing, 7th September, 2015(BISTU)--- Alumni Cup Entrepreneurship & Innovation Contest was in preparation at BISTU. Entrusted by Alumni Sodality of Alumni Entrepreneurs (ASAE), delegates of preparatory board of the contest, including Vice Chair & Secretary General of ASAE Wang Minghua, together with Vice Secretary General of ASAE Lin Chunyu, Chen Lijun, Yang Yang, Wang Yanmao and Xiao Lu gathered at BISTU on 31st August for discussion on launching the contest. The discussion meeting was also attended by Lin Guoce, Vice Chair of BISTU Alumni Association and Assistant to Vice President, Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office, and Jia Bin, Director of Youth League Committee. Zhao Xiaolin, Director of Office for Alumni and School History hosted the discussion.
Wang Minghua, Vice President of LANXUM and an alumnus enrolled in BISTU in 1980, said that the reason for organizing the contest is to reciprocate the alma mater and enhance the communication among alumni on and off campus. It was aimed at improving innovative competence of current students, graduated students, and alumni and promoting marketing transformation of invention and creativity achievements of alumni. The contest is geared for all BISTU students and faculties as well as alumni. Wang Xingfen and Jia Bin introduced teaching system for innovation and entrepreneurship of on-campus students as well as current situation and organizing procedures of the contest. Feasibility of cooperation, framework of cooperation, and specific procedures were also discussed on the meeting. In the end, the meeting basically confirmed organization, staff, contest schedule, and corresponding timeline.
According to Office for Alumni and School History, promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship is the source of driving forces for national development. Breakthrough is expected in comprehensive reform of higher education on deepening the education of innovation and entrepreneurship. The contest initiated by alumni could offer a grand stage for the students with their creativity and daring in starting businesses.
