Beijing, 12th April, 2019, (BISTU)— Delegation of Shanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology (Shanxi DIIT), headed by Executive Deputy Secretary General Li Jinping of CPC Shanxi DIIT Committee, visits BISTU for exchange and communication purpose. President Wang Yongsheng and Vice President Chen Gang, accompanied by directors of relating divisions, meet with Shanxi DIIT delegation members. The delegation members also include Deputy Director General Yang Jun of Shanxi DIIT, Director Wang Yanwei of Big Data Industry Office, senior officer Wang Yang, and Zhang Wei.
On behalf of the University, Wang Yongsheng extends warmest welcome to Shanxi DIIT delegation. He offers a detailed introduction to history, team building, talent cultivation, academic discipline construction, academic research, international exchange and cooperation, and social service of the University and explains the goal of BISTU in building a high level university with distinctive features in information technology. Wang Yongsheng says that key functions of a university are to serve the local area, serve industries, and serve the society. Delegation of Shanxi DIIT has shared some valuable experiences. In the future, we will actively explore collaboration between the Department and BISTU in a variety of fields. It is expected that both parties will strengthen exchange and communication and explore collaboration in talent cultivation, academic research, construction of research bases, employment of graduating students, and social service.
Li Jinping says that it is an honor to establish collaboration relationship with BISTU. He points out that Shanxi Province attaches great importance to integration of information, intelligence and traditional industries so as to promote transformation and upgrade of traditional industries. Recent years have witnessed establishment of big data development strategy in Shanxi Province as well as rapid development of digital economy. Under the grand context of industry-university-research integration, necessity and urgency are becoming more salient for collaboration between Shanxi DITT and BISTU in respect of research projects, science and technology development, and talent pool. It is hoped that both parties will continue to strengthen mutual understanding and establish long-lasting, stable cooperative relationship.
Both parties agree that in-depth collaboration could be conducted in the field of educational training, professional consultancy, data statistics and analysis, construction of university-enterprise cooperation, commercialization of research projects, and establishment of field practice bases. Discussions are also held on development of digital industry, big data technology, cultural digital technology, and employment of graduating students.
