Wang Yongsheng Meets with CSU Chico Delegation

Beijing, 26th October 2018 (BISTU) BISTU and California State University, Chico agree to establish collaborative links and start to explore cooperative programs on the meeting between BISTU President Wang Yongsheng and Dr. Debra Larson, Vice President of CSU Chico. BISTU Vice President Chen Gang hosts the meeting.  

 

Wang Yongsheng extends warmest welcome to CSU Chico delegation and offers an introduction to BISTU. He points out that BISTU spares no efforts to cultivating talents with innovative competence and international horizon. Collaboration with CSU Chico will enrich options available for students. It is hoped that visit of Dr. Larson and her delegation members will become a starting point for collaboration between the two institutions.  

 

Dr. Larson extends thanks to warm reception and also introduces CSU Chico. She says that education at CSU Chico finds resemblances at BISTU in respect of features in information technology and nurturing students’ practical competences. In addition, the two institutions are similar in arrangements of academic disciplines. Therefore it is predicted that collaboration in the future will be fruitful and successful. CSU Chico looks forward to working together with BISTU.  

Chen Gang says that BISTU attaches great importance to future collaboration with CSU Chico. It is expected that the two institutions formally established collaborative relationship as soon as possible. Based on collaboration agreement to be signed, all programs would be effectively conducted and implemented in the area of students exchange, faculty exchange, and joint academic research.  

 

In the meeting, concrete demands and suggestions on collaboration between BISTU and CSU Chico are offered respectively by Academic Affairs’ Office, School of Economics and Management and School of Foreign Studies. International Cooperation Department produces information on how to effectively implement cooperative programs. Both institutions reach consensus on students exchange, faculty exchange, and establishment of collaboration academic base in business information system.  

CSU delegation members include Dr. Sara Trechter, Associate Vice President for International Education, and Prof. Frank Li, Special Coordinator of International Education. The meeting and discussion are also attended by Director Wang Xingfen of Academic Affairs Office, Dean Zhang Jian of School of Economics and Management, Dean Ren Weiping of School of Foreign Studies, and Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department.
