Chen Gang Meets with Vice President Robert Ducoffe of UWP

Beijing, 15th October 2018 (BISTU)--- Vice President Chen Gang meets with Vice President Robert Ducoffe of University of Wisconsin–Parkside (UWP) and discusses on future cooperation on the ceremony of renewing collaborative agreement between the two institutions.

On behalf of BISTU, Chen Gang extends warmest welcome to Ducoffe and points out that fruitful achievements have been made by the two institutions in dual degree programs and faculty exchange since in 2009 when inter-school collaborative agreement was signed. Collaboration with UWP in respect of computer science and technology, information management, and business in teaching and research has played an important role in application for approval of doctoral programs and construction of BISTU as a high level university with distinct feature in information technology. Signing of the new agreement is a new opportunity and BISTU will seize this opportunity to explore more possibilities for mutual benefit.

Ducoffe emphasizes that UWP views enhancement of teaching quality and broadening students’ international horizon as an important part of university development strategy. New ideas, new attitude, and fresh vitality have been brought to UWP by exchange faculties and students from BISTU. As the connections between UWP and famous enterprises deepen, BISTU students going there would have more opportunities of internship and employment. Ducoffe is confident about prospect of cooperation between the two universities and would like to offer more thorough support with BISTU faculties and students to produce better experiences for them. And also UWP will offer due suggestions and support with accreditation of AACSB at BISTU.

Both universities also exchange ideas and confirm details on cooperation in respect of semester-based project themed on “offering business solutions with information technology”, bilateral research projects, publication of high level journals, big data science and technology, and big data analysis and application. UWP delegation members also include Prof. Wang Zhemin, Supervisor of International Education of UWP. The meeting and discussion is attended by Director Wang Xingfen of Academic Affairs’ Office, Dean Zhang Jian of School of Economics and Management, Dean Li Chen of School of Information Management, and Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department.
