Self-appraisal of Computer Science and Technology Degree Programs Successfully Completes

Beijing, 26th September 2018 (BISTU)— Meeting on self-appraisal of degree programs in Computer Science and Technology successfully completes at Jianxiangqiao Campus on 24th September. The meeting is hosted by Wang Jiuhe, Dean of Postgraduate School and attended by all deans and academic leaders of School of Computer Science.

Experts who are present at the Meeting include Prof. Li Xiaoming from Peking University (member of academic degree appraisal Committee of Academic Degree Commission of the State Council, Vice Chairman of China Computer Federation, and Deputy Director of Steering Committee for Teaching it Computer Science of Ministry of Education), Prof. Sun Maosong from Tsinghua University, Prof. Ma Huadong from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Prof. Li Zhoujun from Beihang University, and Prof. Zhu Liehuang from Beijing Institute of Technology. Wang Jiuhe extends warmest welcome and sincere thanks to all experts for their support and guidance with development of the academic discipline Computer Science and Technology.  

Dean Li Ning of School of Computer Science delivers a report on self-assessment of master degree in Computer Science and Technology, Vice Dean Zhang Yangsen shows progress of self-assessment of master degree in Computer Technology Engineering. Experts then conduct appraisal based on reports and materials submitted. The experts hold that School of Computer Science has attached great importance to self-appraisal and has perfectly accompanied missions on each stage. With clarified objectives, complete teaching plan, distinct features, reasonable structure of faculties, fairly good achievements in academic research, the two degree programs have been improving in recruitment, talent cultivation, academic exchange and communication, management, funding and scholarships, and employment of graduating students. They unanimously agree that the two degree programs pass the self-appraisal and hope that they would continue to strengthen team building of faculties and strive for more advanced research projects. 

In the end, Secretary Han Junyan of CPC BISTU School of Computer Science Committee extends sincere gratitude to experts for their invaluable suggestions. He offers an introduction to history and educational principle of the School and says that the School will focus on these suggestions to achieve even better progress in academic discipline construction in the field of Computer Science and Technology.
