Vice Mayor Wang Ning Visits BISTU New Campus

Beijing, 27th March, 2018 (BISTU)— Vice Mayor Wang Ning of Beijing Municipality visits BISTU New Campus and conducts on-site coordination meeting to produce solutions to barriers in construction of the New Campus as well as to facilitate shift of non-capital functions of Beijing. The meeting is attended by Yin Peiyan, Deputy Director-general of Municipal Administration Office, Liu Yuhui, Director General of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Zhang Yongkai, Deputy Director General of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Wang Qiang, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Wang Ying, Deputy Director General of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Finance, Zhang Yanyou, District Mayor of Changping, Wu Bin, Vice District Mayor of Changping, and relating directors of corresponding government sectors as well as BISTU Chairman Wang Chuanliang, President Wang Yongsheng, Vice Presidents Ma Qinghong and Chen Qinghua and Assistants to VP Luan Zhongquan and Lin Guoce.

On the meeting some key issues are discussed and offered solutions, such as road work on campus, funding of construction of the New Campus, re-settlement of local residents, city planning around the New Campus, etc. A mechanism of monthly based working conferences, led by Beijing Municipal Education Commission and included relating government sectors and Changping District, is set on the meeting.

Following the report on progress of the New Campus construction, Wang Ning enquires in details the problems and barriers existing in facilitating construction of the New Campus. With his positive comments on the efforts that have been made for construction of the New Campus, Wang Ning says that the importance of this project, in the first place, shall be fully understood. All parties involved shall deeply understand that construction of BISTU New Campus has great implications for shift of non-capital functions of Beijing. It is a key step in serving construction of Beijing as Four Centers. Secondly, a scientific method shall be introduced to solve problems. The University shall make thorough design and all other sectors shall clarify their responsibilities to provide due support to address to highlight problems in construction of the New Campus. Thirdly, communication is to be enhanced among government sectors to facilitate construction of the New Campus. And fourthly, innovation and long-term planning is really needed in the whole process. Based on actual consideration, it is a goal to build a high level, quality campus for BISTU students. Wang Ning says that Beijing Municipality attaches great importance to construction of BISTU New Campus and has listed it as one of key municipal projects of 2018. All parties involved shall work closely, harder together to ensure the whole project is accomplished in a timely manner.  

Yin Yanpei comments that government sectors and other institutions have done quite well for construction of the New Campus. It is hope that the new coordination mechanism is to be brought into full play so that joint efforts of all could better promote construction of BISTU New Campus.  

Liu Yuhui comments that BISTU has spared no effort to construction of the New Campus. He hopes that government sectors and Changping District continues to support construction of BISTU New Campus and that BISTU could facilitate construction of the New Campus.
