Beijing, 18th December, 2017 (BISTU)— BISTU delegation headed by President Wang Yongsheng visits University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) for discussion of preparatory work and other issues related to establishment of Beijing Municipal Center for Genetic Engineering of Materials. The delegation meets with Prof. Zhang Xinxin, President of USTB, Vice President Lv Zhaoping, and directors of relating divisions.
During the discussion, Dean Wang Luning of USTB School of Material Science and Engineering, USTB Vice President Lv Zhaoping and Prof. Qiao Lijie of Beijing Municipal Center for Genetic Engineering of Materials respectively introduce progress of the Center, constitution of the Center, and organizational structure of the Center. Both parties explore issues regarding operational mechanism, team building, fund and finance of Beijing Municipal Center for Genetic Engineering of Materials.
Wang Yongsheng says that BISTU attaches great importance to construction of Beijing Municipal Center for Genetic Engineering of Materials. The University will publish corresponding policies to produce support with the Center. At the same time, BISTU will also benefit from learning the experiences of USTB, while cooperating on the Center, in respect of academic research, education, discipline construction, etc., to educate and cultivate more innovative, outstanding students.
Led by USTB and joined by BISTU, Beijing Municipal Center for Genetic Engineering of Materials was officially approved in October 2017. The Center aims at achieving breakthroughs in core technology and key fields like special alloy, energy materials, new functional materials, etc., and making research achievements with international influence.
