Beijing, 30th November, 2017 (BISTU)— BISTU Vice President Xu Baojie and Vice President Chen Gang meet with Russian Moscow National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) headed by Dr. Kovalenko Dmitry Georgievich, Vice-Rector for International Activities and Youth Work and Dr. Cui Shan, head of Sino-Russian foundation. Both institutions exchange ideas on collaborative educational project to be approved by Ministry of Education of China.
On the welcome ceremony, Chen Gang extends warm welcome to the delegation and expresses that BISTU and Moscow National Research University of Electronic Technology, with the support and help of Sino-Russian Foundation, have conducted sound communication on projects to be jointly operated. It is expected to deepen mutual friendship and initiate all-around cooperation between the two institutions.
Kovalenko introduces Moscow National Research University of Electronic Technology and says that Russia is in firm support of the Belt and Road Initiative. Moscow National Research University of Electronic, as a “national classified institute”, only opens to the outside world for a short period of time. However, it values very much cooperation with Chinese institutions. MIET and BISTU find many similarities in a number of areas and it will spare no effort to make sure that BISTU becomes a most successful partner in China.
Xu Baojie introduces BISTU and current progress in research and education. He expresses that the cooperation between BISTU and MIET will open a new page in BISTU’s international cooperation with Russian universities. It is hoped that breakthroughs are to be made in respect of faculties exchange, joint research, and dual degree projects.
Dean Huang Min of School of Electromechanical Engineering and Dean Dong Mingli of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering respectively introduce programs, research, and team building in their schools.
Both parties have reach consensus on preparatory work and level of education with regard to international degree project to be held by the two institutions and negotiated on other issues to be completed in near future.
Moscow National Research University of Electronic Technology, established in 1965, is the top institute of Russia in the field of micro-electronics, Nano-technology, information technology, and distance communication. For a number of years, it ranks top five among all technology institutes of Russia.
The delegation also includes Cui Fan, Secretary of Sino-Russian Foundation. The meeting and discussion is attended by Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office, and Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department.
