BISTU Teams Shine on China Trials for the 8th Asian Robot Tournament

Beijing, 7th November, 2017 (BISTU)—China Trials for the 8th Asian Robot Tournament successfully completes in Zhuhai, Guangzhou province, on 5th November 2017 in China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition Centre.

BISTU Dream, following the championship in VEX-U group of northeast China section, is crowned with VEX-U gold medal of China Trials by fighting fiercely against last world champion and national champion and hence directly qualified to attend the finals of 2018 VEX Robotics Competition to be held in the U.S. in 2018.  

Dream VEX, founded in August 2017, currently is composed of 20 members from School of Electromechanical Engineering. The members work very hard for the national trials and have so far upgraded the robot 8 times in respect of structure and programming. The final version is a double-layered robot with gripping mechanism and its automatic program could win as high as 50 scores within one minute.  

In the Trials, primary and middle school teams supervised by BISTU continue to show their power. Among 165 teams in first half and 40 teams in the final, Dream Primary School teams win a gold and a silver medal in VEX-IQ primary school group and Yongtai Primary School team wins the bronze medal of VEX-IQ group.

VEX Robotics Competition aims at promoting educational robots, raising interests of students of middle schools and universities in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and enhancing team spirit, leadership and competence of solving problems of young people. China Trials attracts 3000 students in over 500 teams from 26 provinces of China.
