Beijing, 24th September, 2017 (BISTU)— The 9th National Dean Forum for Instrumentation Science and Technology, hosted by BISTU, successfully completes in Beijing. The Forum is addressed to by Academician Ye Huasheng of Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Tianjin University, Academician You Zheng of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of Tsinghua University, and Academician Fang Jiancheng of Chinese Academy of Science and Vice President of Beihang University. It gathers over 200 delegates from all over the country, including deans of college or department of Instrumentation science and technology of 90-odd universities nationwide. BISTU Chairman of University Council Wang Chuanliang and Director Li Shanting of Department of Research and Postgraduate Affairs of Beijing Municipal Education Commission address to the opening ceremony hosted by Vice President Chen Gang.
National Dean Forum for Instrumentation Science and Technology is sponsored by Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, Beihang University, Harbin Institute of Technology and Chongqing University. The first Forum is hosted by Tianjin University in 2009 and now it has become a key platform for strategic research and academic exchange and communication in the field of Instrumentation science and technology. It is playing an very important role in planning, education, reform and coordinated innovation of Instrumentation science and technology.
Wang Chuanliang extends sincere thanks to support and trust of Organizing Committee of the Forum and warmest welcome to academicians, experts and friends attending the Forum. He points out that a grand context of the Forum is national strategy of innovation-driven development and construction of double first rate university. It lays focus on building world leading discipline of Instrumentation science and technology. As the host, BISTU will spare no effort to successful completion of the Forum. Following his introduction to BISTU history, achievements, features as well as strategic development planning guided by construction of five environments, Wang Chuanliang says that BISTU hopes to work even closer with institutions nationwide to strengthen coordinated innovation and development.
On behalf of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Deputy Director Li Shanting warmly congratulates successful opening of the Forum and expresses thanks to Organizing Committee for its support and trust with BISTU. He says that BISTU has achieved rapid progress in recent years in discipline construction, academic research, and education. Particularly the discipline of Instrumentation science and technology at BISTU has been growing rapidly and generating increasing academic influence with quality education and research as well as elite teams. The Commission will continue to support BISTU and expects suppor from the experts with further development of BISTU.
In his address, Academician Ye Huasheng of Tianjin University extends thanks to all deans and experts attending the Forum. He reviews birth and growth of the discipline of Instrumentation science and technology in China and points out that rapid development of Instrumentation science and technology owes much to selfless effort of all deans and experts. It is hope that all deans and experts unite cohesively to help promote academic influence and development of Instrumentation science and technology in China.
Following the opening ceremony, key note speeches, hosted by Prof. Qu Xinghua of Tianjin University and Prof. Wang Xue of Tsinghua University, are delivered by Academician You Zheng of Tsinghua University, Academician Fang Jiancheng of Beihang Unibersity, Prof. Tan Jiubin of Harbin Institute of Technology, Dean Zeng Zhoumo of Tianjin University, and Vide Dean Guo Yongcai of Chongqing University respectively on Planning of Double First Rate Construction at Tsinghua University, Opportunities for Double First Rate Construction from the Perspective of Quantum Sensor Technology, Promotion of Double First Rate Construction based on Integration of Discipline and Academic Programs, New Engineering: Opportunities and Challenges for Instrumentation Programs, and Construction of First Rate Instrumentation Discipline with Interdisciplinary Strengths. And 12 more reports are delivered by experts in expropriation of first rate discipline construction in the field of Instrumentation science and technology.
Experts and scholars reach a consensus that invaluable historical opportunities have been posed there for Instrumentation science and technology under the context of double first rate construction. Universities shall strengthen cooperation, coordinate innovation, promote interdisciplinary development, and enhance international educational influence. The discipline of Instrumentation science and technology shall be more innovative in educational means and ideas to explore establishment of new mechanism for development of engineering. It is also necessary to promote integration of discipline and academic programs, enhance education quality, and nurture innovative talents, so as to play a bigger role in national economic construction.
