BISTU Celebrates the 33rd Teachers’ Day

Beijing, 7th September, 2017 (BISTU)--- BISTU celebrates the 33rd Teachers’ Day by holding a commendatory meeting on Xiaoying campus in recognition of outstanding faculties and staff who have served education for 30 years or more. The commendatory meeting is attended by all University senior administrators, commended faculties and staff, representatives of faculties and staff, and representatives of students. The meeting, hosted by Vice President Liu Xiaoyi, is addressed to by Chairman of University Council Wang Chuanliang.

On behalf of the University, Wang Chuanliang extends best wishes to all faculties and staff for Teachers’ Day and warm congratulations to all commended teachers. He lists outstanding achievements that the University has made in the past year--- under the leadership of University Council and guided by construction of five environments. Wang Chuanliang points out that these achievements illustrate that BISTU team offaculties and staff are powerful with great potential. The commended faculties and staff are actually epitome of all teachers who are substantial support and hope of BISTU’s supernormal development with leaps and bounds. Guided by construction of five environments, BISTU is to create an even better environment for working, life and career development of all teachers. He requests that all teachers be firm in belief, have solid foundation of knowledge, be morally perfect, and conduct constant self-improvement. All BISTU faculties shall spare no efforts to nurturing students of comprehensive quality and overall development to become quality and reliable successors of construction of socialist society and the University.

University senior administrators presenting honor certificates to commended teachers

Experiences in teaching, research and education of students are shared by Chen Yong, award winner of Beijing Municipal Teacher of Excellence and a teacher from School of Electromechanical Engineering, Zhang Yangsen, Second Prize Winner of Beijing Science and Technology Advancementand a teacher from School of Computer Science, Wang Lei, First Prize Winner in Municipal Teaching Competition of Young Teachers and a teacher from School of Information Management, and Sun Ting, Outstanding Young Talent of Beijing and a teacher from School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering. Chen Yong, speaking of his 26 years of teaching, says that teaching is more than a job. It is a career of life. It is achievement rather than money that makes people happy. Zhang Yangsen comments that being commended is an encouragement and he will continue to strive for excellence to contribute to development of the University. Wang Lei extends sincere thanks to colleagues and friends who have generously helped her and expresses that she would cherish the precious opportunity coming along with rapid development of BISTU to make greater achievements. As one of the outstanding young faculties, Sun Ting thanks the University and School for the importance attached to young teachers. She says she would devote herself to teaching and research at BISTU.
