BISTU Frist Culture and Art Festival Welcome Grand Opening Ceremony

Beijing, 15th March, 2017 (BISTU)--- Grand opening ceremony of BISTU Frist Culture and Art Festival successfully completes on Xiaoying Campus. The ceremony is attended by Chairman Wang Chuanliang, President Wang Yongsheng, Vice Presidents Liu Xiaoyi, Wang Xiuyan, Feng Xiaochun, and Taozhihong, and Assistants to VP Luan Zhongquan and Lin Guoce and hosted by VP Liu Xiaoyi.

Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng jointly unveil logo of the first BISTU Frist Culture and Art Festival and Wang Chuanliang announces opening of the Festival.

In his address, Wang Yongsheng sincerely thanks faculties, staff and students who have worked hard to prepare for this Festival. He points out that a university shall has its own cultural and artistic implications in addition to education and learning of science and knowledge. As an important move of BISTU implementation of 13th Five-Year Plan, the Festival aims to offer a platform for BISTU students and faculties to show their competences and talents, train themselves, and share their experiences. It would enhance comprehensive quality of both BISTU students and education and boost the passion and creativity in loving BISTU and building up BISTU.

Wang Xiuyan introduces general information of the Festival. It is aimed at fully implementing Political and Ideological Conference on Work in Higher Educational Institutions, promoting BISTU’s Five-environment construction, implementing key cultural projects of BISTU 13th Five-Year Plan, and constructing a university culture which combines cultural inheritance and innovation, humanistic and scientific spirit, and features of the time and BISTU. BISTU also establishes organizing committee for this Festival in which Chairman and President are Directors-General and members are directors and deans of divisions and schools.

The first Culture and Art Festival will last the whole semester with its three sections: culture section which promotes fine traditional Chinese culture; art section which focuses on showing faculties and students of excellence and enhancing appreciation of art; and physical education section which centers on body-building in a scientific way. The activities will cover all BISTU students and faculties and staff, including undergraduates, postgraduates, and international students.

The orchestra Blue Danube is played by BISTU faculties and students on the ceremony, together with other eye-catching programs in semi-chorus, saxophone solo, and dance.
