BISTU Publishes Annual Report on Employment Quality of Graduating Students in 2018

Beijing, 3rd January, 2019, (BISTU)— BISTU publishes “BISTU Annual Report on Employment Quality of Graduating Students in 2018”. According to the Report, the year 2018 witnesses 3,006 students graduated from the University, including 2,593 undergraduate students and 413 postgraduate students. As of 31st October 2018, employment rates for undergraduate students and postgraduate students are respectively 99.19% and 100%, indicating that the University has successfully achieved the goal for students’ employment in 2018.   

   

In 2018, the University seriously implements Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of CPC as well as the spirit of national and municipal conferences on education. Closely following the new situation and new requirements of development of higher education and construction of Beijing as Four Centers and guided by “construction of five environments”, the University upholds socialist orientation in education, emphasizes morality education, and give priority to employment of graduating students. Successively, the University has invested 133.9K Yuan RMB in organizing various training sessions on employment and team building. Also the University establishes a special fund of 1 million Yuan to provide support and help for students’ jog hunting. Information platform is improved. And quality of employment is also improved by a series of means and measures including information website for employment, Wechat channel on employment, and online systems for information collection and contract-signing. The University encourages students to work and contribute to grass-root units. Thirty-five students of graduating students in 2018 will be working in grass-root units and west China, including 6 volunteers working in west China, 2 working in villages of Beijing, and 1 working in Xizang. To meet the demand of national economic development strategy and expand job market for students to Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, faculties and staff of employment and admissions office successively visit Xi’an, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wenzhou, etc. to recommend BISTU graduates. Altogether 11 job fairs and 117 publicity events are organized. Over 760 employers attend these events and fairs and over 10 thousand jobs are offered to students. Party building plays a vital role in here. Party branches help students find the jobs that they want. A trinity curricular system of employment has been established with compulsory module, online module and practice module. Support is provided for financially challenged students--- 205K Yuan job hunting allowance is allocated to 205 graduating students.   

   

For seven years in a row BISTU sees employment rate for graduating students remaining 98% or above. Satisfaction rate of graduating students and employers are both over 95%. More than 40% of graduating students find their jobs in the area of information transmission, software, and information technology service, which is in line with the feature of BISTU--- features in information, industry, and military industry. A survey of MyCOS, a third-party evaluation institution, shows that average month salary of BISTU students is 6,127 in half of year of entry, 617 higher than peer institutions in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. And average salary of BISTU graduates remains higher than that of their peers in other similar undergraduate universities.
