BISTU Students Honored in National Contest

Beijing, 5th December, 2018, (BISTU)— Students of School of Electromechanical Engineering and Electromechanical Experiment and Training Center win the Third Prizes in the first National Contest of Innovative Weapon Design held in Nanjing of Jiangsu Province.  

The finals are held in Nanjing University of Science and Technology and 130 design works from Army Engineering University (previously PLA University of Science and Technology), Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, North University of China, and Officers College of PAP. “In-sleeve Dart” Multi-functional Flight Vehicle for Individual Soldiers, jointly developed by School of Electromechanical Engineering and Electromechanical Experiment and Training Center, finally stands out and ranks 4th in all 67 works participating in the Contest.  

 

The first National Contest of Innovative Weapon Design is sponsored by China Ordnance Society, hosted by Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and co-organized by Beijing Institute of Technology and North University of China. It is aimed at cultivating innovative spirit and team spirit, broadening horizon, raising awareness of weapon innovation, and improving comprehensive design competence of university students and enthusiasts of weapon innovation. The theme of the Contest is focusing on coordination of land, sea and air forces, coordinated development of photo electronic and machinery technology, and exploration of new thinking and new mode of weapon design. The Contest starts on 1st August and receives 283 works designed by 121 universities and institutions, with 130 works entering the finals.
