Beijing, 22nd November, 2018, (BISTU)— Feedback meeting for Categorized Observation of Educational Development successfully concludes at Xiaoying Campus of BISTU. Academician Zhang Jie of Chinese Academy of Science, Head of Observation Group and former President of Shanghai Jiaotong University, produces feedback on observation on the meeting attended by all BISTU senior administrators.
The expert committee holds that BISTU, based on historical accumulation and current development, has confirmed development orientation of building a high level university with distinctive feature in information technology. With firm leadership of CPC BISTU Committee, the University has designed development objectives on three phases, i.e., 2020, 2035 and 2050, aiming at building a domestically first-class and internationally well-known university by the year 2050. And the University has published a series of reform plans, including modeling project of high level teachers, cultivation of talents of diligence and honor, categorized staff development, and reform on mode of talent cultivation. The development orientation and reform are well received by senior administrators, divisions, faculties and staff, and students. The expert committee hopes that BISTU could further consolidate development planning, optimize layout of academic disciplines, focus on key areas, and offer support with detailed policies. It is also hoped that the University keeps emphasizing on team building and enriching connotation of university culture.
On behalf of CPC BISTU Committee and all senior administrators, Wang Chuanliang extends most sincere thanks to experts for their guidance and instructions. He expresses that the advice and suggestions produced by experts show the pathway which BISTU is to follow in the future. Construction of a high level university with distinctive feature in information technology is not only a development goal established by CPC BISTU Committee but also common expectation of all faculties, staff and students of the University. It is the BISTU identity for them. The University has the confidence, potential, competence and capacity, with help and instructions of the experts, to build a high level university, enhance competence in talent cultivation, science and technology innovation, and social service, and better serve national strategy and construction of Beijing as four centers.
On behalf of the University, Wang Yongsheng express thanks to the experts for their positive confirmation of development orientation and development goals of BISTU. He says that in the future BISTU will carefully research advice and suggestions produced by experts, deepen the reform based on practical situation and centered on development goals, and promote quality development, featured development, and differentiated development of the University so as to contribute to national development and construction of Beijing as four centers.
Entrusted by Beijing Municipal Educational Commission, working group for Categorized Observation of Educational Development conducts on-site observation of BISTU from 27th to 28th November 2018. The working group explores a series of documentations, reviews keynote report delivered by BISTU President, and holds talks with 11 senior administrators, 14 directors of different divisions, 8 deans of various schools, 12 professors, 24 representatives of young and middle aged faculties, and 36 representatives of undergraduate and postgraduate students. It also observes live teaching of 40 modules and visits a number of labs and centers and finally produces the above mentioned feedback.
