Wang Chuanliang Pays Visit to Japanese Universities

Beijing, 21st May 2018 (BISTU)—  Upon invitation of Sophia University, Nanzan University, and Kwansei Gakuin University, BISTU Chairman of University Council Wang Chuanliang pays visits to Japanese universities from 14th to 18th May and signs cooperation agreements. The visit is aimed at exploring cooperation links with Japanese universities, expanding channels of students exchange, and facilitating collaboration in dual degree programs and academic cooperation.

Sophia University is a leading private university of Japan with advanced level of academic internationalization. Sophia University spares no effort to nurturing high level talents who could properly understand current affairs of the world, who are equipped with corresponding knowledge, and who are determined to serve the society. Vice President Miki Sugimura of Sophia University, meets and talks with BISTU delegation headed by Wang Chuanliang and informs the delegation of principles, history and current progress of the University. Both institutions reach consensus on students exchange, faculty visit and research collaboration and sign relating agreements.

BISTU delegation then visits headquarter of Green Energy Solution and explores possibilities of conducting cooperation with Japanese industries. Both parties agrees to exchange and communicate on future cooperative projects including students internship and academic research collaboration.

Nanzan University, a famous private institution located in Nagoya of Japan, upholds the idea of “safeguarding human dignity” and is dedicated to building “world power” by converging “individual power”. It has now become a comprehensive university with 8 colleges offering various degree programs in 17 disciplines. President Torisu Yoshifumi and Vice President Masahiro Hoshino warmly welcome BISTU delegation. Both institutions exchange information on guiding principles, educational features, and current academic progress of each other and agree to explore further cooperation in a wider spectrum including students exchange, faculty visit and academic collaboration. A series of agreements have also signed to facilitate cooperation.

Kwansei Kwansei Gakuin University is a well-known private institution with 11 colleges and 14 research institutions and is particularly famous for quality education and research in international studies and economics. International Director Yoko Ogami of Kwansei Gakuin University meets and holds discussion with BISTU delegation on collaboration in respect of students exchange, faculty visit and academic research cooperation. Both institutions agree to explore more possibilities of working together in a number of academic fields.  

BISTU delegation members include Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, Dean Zhang Jian of School of Economics and Management, and Executive Deputy Director Wang Zhiyong of General Administration Office.
