Beijing, 14th May 2018 (BISTU)— St. Louisville of Kentucky witnessed Dream, a VEX robot team of BISTU School of Electromechanical Engineering , being granted VEX-U gold award in 2018 Robotics World Championship. It is the very first time for Dream to attend international level competition.
Dream is established in August 2017 and has won championship of North China Section of VEX-U and VEX-U China Section and thus progresses to the finals held in the States.
Dream attends VEX-U section designed for teams from universities around the world. It accommodates 86 teams from different countries and they compete in two sub-sections. After ten rounds of fierce competition, due to accidental fall of the robot, Dream finally ranks 10th of sub-section and wins gold award.
Middle and primary school VEX team of School of Electromechanical Engineering also shines in VEX-IQ section. This section accommodates 400 teams in five sub-sections. Starlight, a team of Yongtai Primary School, wins champion of sub-section. Primary School Water team is crowned in sun-section and also wins a silver medal in the finals. Qinghe Middle School team ranks 4th in sub-section.
Over 25,000 students, educator and parents from 46 countries around the world are attracted to 2018 Robotics World Championship held in Louisville, Kentucky of USA. Preliminary rounds of the Championship accommodate over 20,000 teams who are involved in 1700 competitions. Finally 1,648 teams are qualified to enter the finals. On closing ceremony, officer of Guinness World Record confirms that new record is set for 1,648 teams attending 2018 VEX Robotics World Championship.
