Vice President Xu Baojie Meet with Ngee Ann Polytechnic Delegation

Beijing, 27th March, 2017 (BISTU)--- BISTU and Ngee Ann Polytechnic agree to deepen cooperation on the basis of current fruitful cooperative projects, as is discussed on the meeting between BISTU VP Xu Baojie and Mr. Mah Wee Beng, Deputy Principal & Registrar​ of Ngee Ann Polytechnic and his delegation.

Xu Baojie extends warmest welcome to Mah Wee Beng and offers a brief introduction to BISTU. He points out that Signapore is a key hub of the 21st maritime silk road in Belt and Road Initiative and it is one of the most important countries in Southeast Asia. It is hoped that the two institutions, with the grand context of Belt and Road Initiative, work closely together to contribute to educational communication and exchange between the two countries. BISTU also expects to take cooperation with Singapore institutions as the base to expand cooperation with other Southeast Asian universities. BISTU welcomes more Ngee Ann Polytechnic students and would like to explore possibilities in students’ exchange, faculty exchange, and other academic activities. Says Xu Baojie.  

Following his positive comments on achievements that Ngee Ann Polytechnic students have made at BISTU in the past three weeks, Mah Wee Beng says that students have learned a lot from lectures, seminars, and visits to Lenovo and ZTE Corportation. He points out that Ngee Ann Polytechnic will explore cooperation possibilities in all academic areas and will offer strongest support with two-bound students’ and faculties’ exchange.

During the meeting, both institutions reach consensus on faculty exchange, students’ training, attending international academic contests, off-shore training base, etc.    

The delegation members also include Ms Anita Kuan Hwai Min, Senior Director of Strategy & Partnerships, Ms Serene Koh Kwee Yong, Director of International Office, Mrs Lek-Lim Geok Choo, Director of Electrical Engineering Division (EE) School of Engineering, Mr Ng Poh Oon, Director of School of InfoComm Technology, and Wang Wei of International Office. BISTU faculties attending the meeting and discussion are Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office and Dean of International Education School, Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, and Vice Dean Cai Ying of International Education School.
