BISTU First Cohort of Students for Japan Academic Exchange Successfully Return

Beijing, 20th February, 2017 (BISTU)--- The two weeks between 4th February and 17th February 2017 witnessed altogether 36 BISTU students enjoying their academic exchange trip in Japanese universities, such as Kyoto University, Doshisha University, and Tokyo University.

The first stop is Kyoto University where students are offered access to lecturers delivered by four famous Japanese professors on Information Technology and Auto Driver Assistance System, 3D Printing and Personalized Service, Artificial Intelligence and Robots, and Advancement of Auto Engines and Future of Engine Fuels. In addition to the lectures, students also have seminars with Japanese students in respect of learning and campus life. The second stop is Doshisha University where students are engaged in seminars and lectures like Japan’s Economic Policy, Economic Analysis in Innovative Industries and Japan’s Economic Features and Public Policies, etc. Students feedback show that comparative learning on economic policies of the two countries has offered a basic understanding of Japanese economy and an insight into innovation and startups in Japan.

The last stop is Tokyo University. Display hall of research and development shows all students amazing advancement of academic research in world leading universities. Students are also shown around Yasuda Auditorium and library of the University to touch its strong academic atmosphere. In addition to theoretical learning, students are also offered the access to famous Japanese enterprises for short field practice, such as Toyota, Asahi, Tokyo Stock Exchange, etc., where they gain profound understanding of advanced manufacturing technology, production management, and the idea of green production as well as the meaning of “craftsmen” spirit.

According to staff of International Cooperation Department, short-term exchange and cooperation with internationally famous universities is a key part of BISTU future globalization. This trip aims at offering opportunities for students to personally feel teaching and practice in international universities, innovation and development of international enterprises, and importance of broaden international horizon.
