Beijing Municipal Key Lab of High Dynamic Navigation Technology Successfully Completes 2016 Academic Committee Conference

Beijing, 22nd January, 2017 (BISTU)--- BISTU Jianxiangqiao Campus witnessed successful completion of 2016 Academic Committee Conference of Beijing Municipal Key Lab of High Dynamic Navigation Technology on 21st January, 2017. The Conference were attended by Prof. Fu Mengyin, President of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, BISTU President Wang Yongsheng, Vice President Han Qiushi, and division directors and School of Information and Communication Engineering of BISTU.  


In his address, President Wang Yongsheng extended sincere thanks to all experts and scholars who have offered generous support with Beijing Municipal Key Lab of High Dynamic Navigation Technology. Following his introduction to general information on BISTU 13th Five-Year Plan and feature and mission of BISTU, he hoped that the Lab and all members continue to work together to contribute to development of BISTU and construction of Beijing as Four Centers--- political center, cultural center, international exchange center, and center for science and technology innovation. 

Prof. Fu Mengyin chaired the Conference. Lab Director Su Zhong delivered 2016 annual report, 2017 working plan, and development planning. Secretary Fan Junfang offered an introduction to guidelines on open research projects 2017-2018.   

The Academic Committee highly appreciated works done in 2016 in the Lab and the achievements having been made: in addition to successful completion of 2016 annual planning, the Lab also have made outstanding achievements in research projects, research achievements, and base construction, including one First Prize and one Second Prize in national defense science & technology inventions, winning bids in fundamental research projects of national defense, and being selected as a municipal level member in science and technology innovation. In short, the Lab has achieved tremendous progress in the area of high dynamic navigation technology and has become one of the leading labs in the field of international research on high dynamic inertia devices. And the Committee also agreed to take in two new academic members, i.e., Prof. Qiao Junfei from Beijing University of Technology and Prof. Deng Zhihong from Beijing Institute of Technology.  


The Academic Committee suggested that more, active support be offered to the Lab in respect of policy, platform construction, and introduction of talents. Efforts would be invested to strengthen team construction, focus more on academic research, and expand the areas where research achievements could be applied. The Lab, with its research strengths, will become an academic base, science and technology innovation platform, and industry accelerator in the field of high dynamic navigation technology, which will promote development of education, academic research, and industry and produce effective solutions to key issues concerning social and economic development of Beijing and the nation.
