Senior Administration of BJUT Visit BISTU to Explore Cooperation

Beijing, 6th January, 2017 (BISTU)--- Cooperation and exchange between BISTU and Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) is explored when the whole senior administration of BJUT led by Chairman of University Council Zheng Jichun and President Liu Gonghui visit BISTU and talk with BISTU senior administration led by Chairman of University Council Wang Chuanliang and President Wang Yongsheng. The meeting was presided by Wang Chuanliang.

On behalf of BISTU, Wang Chuanliang extends warmest welcome to BJUT delegation. Reviewing historical connections and friendship between the two universities, he says that the two institutions are commonly supervised by Beijing Municipality and have established sound, solid friendship in years of working together. He hopes that the two institutions could expand cooperation, learn from each other, help improve each other, establish long-lasting strategic relations, and work together to contribute to development of Beijing.

Wang Yongsheng introduces history, current status, and vision of BISTU’s basic information, disciplines and research features, education, and development goals of the 13th Five-Year Plan. He proposes that the two institutions could explore cooperation and exchange in the future in the respect of staff development, discipline construction, and academic research. He sincerely hopes that support from BJUT would help with approval of BISTU post-doctoral research base, nurturing of Ph.D supervisors, and construction of research platforms.

Liu Gonghui feels very happy with the achievements that BISTU has made. He introduces the history, opportunities, academic research, education, exchange and cooperation of BJUT as well as deepening of reform, university mission, and vision. On the basis of existing cooperation and exchange, Liu Gonghui says it is mutually beneficial for the two institutions to work closely together in respect of education and academic research.

Zheng Jichun positively comments on achievements of BISTU in scientific and technological innovation, commercialization of academic research, and education of innovation and entrepreneurship as well as the strengths of BISTU in the area of information and technology. He expresses that BISTU and BJUT, both as institutions under supervision of Beijing Municipality, have a solid foundation of collaboration. BJUT would love to work together with sister schools to better serve development and construction of Beijing and integration of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.

In-depth discussion is conducted between the two institutions in respect of discipline construction, academic research, education of students, students’ affairs, resource sharing, etc.
