The 9th Contest on Essential Teaching Successfully Concluded

Beijing, 4th January, 2017 (BISTU)--- The Contest on Essential Teaching---Rising Stars of Teaching, organized by Teaching Affairs Office, Human Resources Office, and University Workers’ Union, successfully concluded. Liu Xiaomei from School of Information Management and Wang Mao from School of Electromechanical Engineering were honored with First Class Prize in science and engineering group and Gu Lili from School of Media and Public Administration in arts and management group. Altogether 18 young teachers, including Liu Xiaomei, were awarded “Rising Stars of Teaching”.

The Contest was actively, extensively responded by young teachers. And 32 teachers were included in the finals held on 24th December 2016. Vice President Xu Baojie hosted the opening ceremony. The Finals invited 21 experts, most of whom are municipal level teachers of preeminence or teaching supervisors of BISTU, and 22 student judges.

In the end, 18 award winners of the contest were honored with “Rising Stars of Teaching” of BISTU, including 3 first class prize winners, 6 second class winners, and 9 third class winners.  

The Contest on Essential Teaching offers a platform for young teachers to exchange with and learn from each other. It is extensively received by BISTU young faculties. The University will continue to utilize the platform of teaching contest to enhance individual educational quality, improve teaching competence and level of young faculties, and enhance education quality of the university.
