Beijing, 19th December, 2016 (BISTU)--- Honorary Professorship was conferred to Dr. Wang Lihui, professor of Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (KTH) on the ceremony hosted by Vice President Xu Baojie.
Following the warm welcome, Xu Baojie offers briefing of BISTU recent development and achievements. He expresses that in an ear of speedy advancement of information technology, BISTU needs to focus on its distinctive features, innovation of teaching and learning, creative way of education, and keeping pace with rapid progress of globalization. BISTU faculties would be equipped with international platform which help them in education of talented students with international horizon. He sincerely hopes that Dr. Wang Lihui would continue to contribute to exchange and communication between the two universities so as to promote mutual development.

Wang Lihui currently is professor of KTH, specializing in sustainable manufacturing, editor in chief of International Journal of Manufacturing Research, and editor or committee members of scores of international journals including Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing. In addition to the research work, he is actively engaged in various committee and community activities. He was the Conference Chair of FAIM 2004, a member of Grant Selection Committee (GSC-20 for Industrial Engineering) of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (2004-2007), a member of Scientific Committee of North American Manufacturing Research Institution (NAMRI) of Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) since 2004, and a member of Technical Committee 282 (Machinery Safety) of Swedish Standards Institute. His research interests are presently focused on distributed process planning, web-based real-time monitoring and control, human-robot collaboration, cloud manufacturing, cyber-physical and sustainable production systems.
Following the ceremony, Vice Dean of School of Electromechanical Engineering shows Prof. Wang Lihui around key lab of electromechanical detection and control. And Prof. Wang shares his understanding of dynamics and development of global smart manufacturing.
The ceremony is also attended by Xing Jishou, Director of Office for Scientific Research, Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, Huang Min, Dean of School of Electromechanical Engineering, and Xu Xiaoli, Director of Ministry Key Lab for Modern Detection and Control Technology.
