A Leap Forward for Science and Research at BISTU in 2013

Beijing, February 26th, 2014 (BISTU) --- As noted in report of Office for Scientific Research, BISTU has exceeded the annual scientific research target of 2013, with sharp increases in funding, project scale, and the number of high quality research results.

BISTU was granted RMB 119.714 million science and research funding in 2013, a historical breakthrough of annual science and research funding exceeding a hundred million Yuan threshold. Target of “the Twelfth Five-year Plan” was accomplished two years in advance. In addition, BISTU established 260 new research projects in 2013, including a number of key projects and projects granted by National Natural Science Foundation of China.  

In 2013, BISUT  has won 7 awards for scientific research projects, with four of them being awarded Beijing Municipal Scientific Progress. In total 1118 essays have been published, amongst which 208 were listed on Chinese Core Journals of Peking University, 264 were indexed by SCI, EI, and ISTP, and 31 were embodied by CSSCI. Also BISTU obtained 132 intellectual property rights with 28 patents of invention.  

Beijing Municipal Key Lab of High Dynamic Navigation Technology became the fifth municipal key lab based at BISTU, following Key Lab of Bio-Medicine Measuring Technology and Instruments--- a lab jointly constructed between BISTU and Tsinghua University. 

In 2013, BISTU participated in construction of five coordinated innovation centers, including centers proposed by Tsinghua University and Beijing Institute of Technology. BISTU’s Coordinated Innovation Center of Cyclic Economy in World Cities has been successfully enlisted on 2011 Project of Beijing Municipal Education Commission.  

The year 2013 witnessed a series of research results: establishment of Beijing Jingxinke High-end Information Technology Institute Co. Ltd. --- an industry platform for BISTU science and research development; 6.8 Million Yuan funding from Beijing Municipal Education Commission on industrialized projects; one open lab approved by Zhongguancun; co-construction of a RD center with leading enterprises; 3 new enterprises led by faculties; and 284 million Yuan capital asset of all BISTU owned companies.
