Faculties, staff, and students of BISTU felt the pleasure and gains from development when the university moved into Shahe campus, a campus based in Changping District with spacious rooms, imposing modern buildings, and enchanting scenery. However, physical relocation is just the first step in our success. We need to be accustomed to the unified campus management and provide help and support with faculties and students to deal with the strangerness and possible inconveniences that they would encounter on a new campus. It is then an urgent mission for the University to reshape school-running environment and talent cultivation model. Consequently, the objective of building a Year-round University is established.

A Year-round University does not mean that we are always at work and on line. It means better, higher-quality service that we offer will always be there for all faculties, staff, and students. Since the autumn semester of 2023, the University has successively established intelligent canteens and introduced KFC and Tmall to the Campus, enabling students to enjoy delicious foods and leisure entertainment on campus. Based on the principle of “digital empowerment” and “student-faculty-centered service”, we have established the one-stop service hall, aiming at providing digital convenience with students and faculties. All BISTUers showered praise on the upgrade of information and digital system of the University for the conveniences and simplified procedures. Guided by the philosophy of “diligence and honor”, the University is marching forward to building a Year-round University. We seek changes and we take initiative in changes. We have been constantly innovating the form and content of university culture, perfecting university governance, and transforming the model of talent cultivation to build a better university for all BISTUers.

The year-round service provided at our Year-round University connects both ends: one is the convenient, comfortable life of faculties and students, and the other is the development momentum of BISTU. It shows humanistic care and the sense of social responsibility of BISTU. It reflects the resolution of BISTU in promoting high-quality development.

Building a Year-round University is just an indispensible step to our shared vision. We still have a lot to do to achieve our goal of building a high level university with distinctive feature in information technology. We still need to overcome a number of difficulties. Seizing the opportunity of building a Year-round University, we are to be rooted in Changping District, provide service with municipal and national development, and perfect models and methods of talent cultivation. We will build a new-type architecture for the relationship among local governments, the university, and students and faculties to explore our unique way of growth.
