Beijing, 8th February 2024 (BISTU)--- Aiming at deepening exchange and cooperation with first-class universities of the world and fully utilizing international quality educational resources, BISTU worked together with renowned universities, such as the University of Cambridge, University College Cork, the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, etc., to offer international learning programs for students during the winter holiday.

“Innovation and Development” learning program in Japan
Winter learning program at the University of Cambridge included two orientations, i.e., robots and AI and financial studies. Lectures on academic fields, career planning, and cultural exchange have witnessed experts and professors offering in-depth explanation and discussions on frontier knowledge and hotspots. Professional explanation was produced on future trends and application values of certain industries to help students choose their research orientation--- an important “first step” in their creative research. The winter learning program has included global career planning and offered detailed interpretation of educational models and talent cultivation at global first-class universities. Students also had opportunities to visit famous enterprises in the UK and communicated with senior executives to learn more about studying abroad or working abroad. Based on suggestions of mentors of the program, students have made career plans and study plans for near future, symbolizing improvement of their comprehensive competences.

iExplore, the winter learning program at the University College Cork laid emphasis on science and technology, cultural exchanges, and social practice. Seminars and lectures were themed on artificial intelligence and big data, bioinspired robots, etc., with combination of engineering and humanity knowledge. Students were shown quite some cases of integrated development and coordinated innovation. Students also visited Tyndall National Institute and food and nutritional sciences lab at the University College Cork to conduct communication with researchers there on specific subjects of studies. The inspiring questions and answers greatly encouraged students to move forward further in research. A language and culture session was specially offered by professors of the University College Cork. BISTU students exchanged and communicated with learners from all around the world and have rapidly improved their language proficiency and the competence of global communication.

The Innovation and Development program in Japan was composed of two orientations, i.e., science and engineering, and humanities and social sciences. Lectures on artificial intelligence, UAV technology, corporate culture, and corporate development were delivered by professors of leading institutions such as the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Doshisha University, etc. Indepth discussions were conducted on the role of AI in future human socieity, the interaction between AI and human kind, the connection and conflicts between AI and arts, etc. Pondering the relationship among a number of factors which would affect future life, such as science and technology, culture, geographical location, and businesses, students visioned their own blueprints of future cities. A special visit to Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology offered an understanding of auto industry development in Japan and showed the importance of science and technology innovation in corporate development.
