National Assistive Technology Services Platform for Persons with Disabilities Visited BISTU

Beijing, 28th November 2025 (BISTU)--- Delegation of National Assistive Technology Services Platform for Persons with Disabilities headed by Deputy Director Shi Zhiqiang visited BISTU on 27th November 2025 to explore ties. Vice President Chen Xin met with the delegation.

Chen Xin extended warm welcome to the delegation and offered a detailed introduction to BISTU including history, academic disciplines, research strengths, and talent cultivation. He emphasized that the University attached great importance to innovation of science and technology and commercialization of research findings. We look forward to deepening cooperation with National Assistive Technology Services Platform for Persons with Disabilities to promote R&D and application of assistive technologies.

Shi Zhiqiang offered an introduction to National Assistive Technology Services Platform for Persons with Disabilities in respect of functions, missions, and business areas. Strengths of BISTU in mechanical and electrical engineering and intelligent manufacturing indicated great room of cooperation with the Platform. He hoped that both institutions would jointly facilitate high-quality development of assistive equipments.

Dean Su Peng of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering explained information about the College in academic disciplines, research teams, research achievements, and social services, with focus on characteristics and strengths of the College in intelligent manufacturing, robotic technologies, and assistive devices. The College would like to cooperate with the Platform to promote innovative application of research findings. He added.

Both institutions conducted in-depth communication on projects and research and development of technologies and agreed to strengthen communication for future cooperation.

The meeting was attended by staff members of National Assistive Technology Services Platform for Persons with Disabilities and directors and deans of BISTU Department of Research and College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
