The afternoon on Dec.12th welcomed a knowledgeable lecture delivered by Prof. Li Jun, Dean of Institute of Information Technology, Tsinghua University, upon invitation of School of Information Management.  

Prof. Li’s “Internet security: to Change or not to” was introduced to students by Prof. Li Chen, Dean of School of Information Management. Vice dean of SIM Jiang Wenbao, Chair of Information Security Department Kang Haiyan and all teachers, graduates in 2012 grade and about 150 undergraduates in major of information security listened to the lecture. 

The lecture adopted 3 aspects to carry out internet security: basic category of information and internet security, firewall technology and instances of its marketing, and cloud computing. 

Prof. Li Jun started the lecture with basic category of information and internet security. He showed examples on how to distinguish Security from Safety on information security, followed by exploring the security in information transmission and network access. And then he explored the concept of firewall, covering its development and core technology applied. In report, he emphatically analyzed cloud computing and pointed out that cloud computing broke new ground in terms of internet security.  

Through the lecture, the students could have a clear understanding of information security, which was helpful to grasp the development of academic research, raise the learning interests and gain awareness of their own specialized disciplines rapidly.
