Beijing, 4th March 2026 (BISTU)--- Capital University of Physical Education and Sports delegation, headed by Chairperson Yang Haibin and President Zhang Xia, visited BISTU on 3rd March 2026 to exchange information on new campus planning and smart campus building. Chairperson Xie Jiangling of BISTU University Council and President Guo Fu met with the delegation.

Xie Jiangling extended warm welcome to Capital University of Physical Education and Sports delegation. Both institutions are administered by Beijing Municipality and shouldering the responsibility of serving municipal development. New campus planning is a necessary step to gain a bigger geographical room for education. Xie Jiangling pointed out that management and construction were equally important for a new campus and that service was more important. Moving into a new campus, students and faculty would encounter a series of inconveniences and difficulties. BISTU has done quite some work and then gained understanding and support from students and faculty. Hopefully this would provide some reference for Capital University of Physical Education and Sports. He added that both universities, with complementary strengths, could work together in a number of fields so as to jointly explore more pathways for high-quality development.

Yang Haibin expressed thanks to the warm reception. He spoke highly of the achievements BISTU has made in new campus construction and management. He commented that BISTU new campus is carefully, thoughtfully designed and managed under the human-centered principle, as if “parents were designing and decorating a warm and efficient room of learning for their kids”. It is a valuable reference for Capital University of Physical Education and Sports. He hoped that both institutions would strengthen exchange and communication to jointly contribute to high-quality development of Beijing.

Guo Fu and Zhang Xia expressed that the two universities would strengthen cooperation in talent cultivation and academic discipline building. Starting from the Intelligent PE, both parties would promote disciplinary integration to achieve mutual growth.

Vice President Li Huatao offered an introduction to BISTU new campus planning and construction. Further discussions were held on key issues, management models, and information and network concerning construction of new campuses.

Capital University of Physical Education and Sports delegation visited facilities of Shahe Campus, including halls of residence, one-stop student community, dining halls, intelligent classrooms, library, etc.

The survey and meeting were joined by Vice Chairperson Wang Yong, Vice President Liu Zhanjun, Vice President Zuo Wei, and Director Li Chunzhi of Publicity Department of Capital University of Physical Education and Sports. Vice Chairperson Wang Wenjie, Vice President Zhang Jian, Director Du Shizhi of Publicity Department, and directors of relating department of BISTU also attended meeting and discussions.
