VP Han Qiushi meets with VP Shu-Hwa Chiu of Shih Hsin University

Beijing, 24th March, 2016(BISTU) --- BISTU Vice President Han Qiushi meets with Dr. Shu-hwa Chiu, Vice President of Shih Hsin University and her delegation. The two institutions discuss on implementation of exchange and cooperative projects to be held this year.  

Han Qiushi extends warmest welcome to the delegation and introduces about BISTU. He hopes that projects could center on programs run at two institutions: administration management, communication, and internet and new media. Faculty exchange, students’ exchange, academic research, etc., the two universities have a very extensive base to work together. Han Qiushi said.   

Dr. Shu-hwa Chiu introduces Shih Hsin University and emphases that Shih Hsin University focuses on “Master virtue and wisdom; practice hands and mind”, “communications courses as SHU’s core curriculum and extending to all fields”, and “Implementing a theory and practice approach to education”. As the renowned communication institution in Taiwan region, Shih Hsin University has College of Journalism and Communications, College of Management, College of the Humanities and Social Sciences and College of Law.  

The two universities signed cooperative MoU in May 2015. Currently BISTU School of Media and Public Administration is mainly responsible for cooperation with Shih Hsin University, including semester-based student exchange. In the future the two universities will initiate more collaborative projects like faculty exchange.   

After the meeting, Shih Hsin delegation specially holds a seminar for students of School of Media and Public Administration, covering details regarding cooperative projects, living and studying in Taiwan, and tuition and fees. BISTU students are welcome to join Shih Hsin. Dr. Shu-Hwa Chiu said.  

The meeting and discussion is also attended by Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office, Dr. Lu Jing, Director of Office for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs, and Dean and Vice Dean of School of Media and Public Administration Yang Kongyu and Yi Qiang.
