Beijing, 29th December, 2015(BISTU) --- Agreement between BISTU and Chienkuo University of Technology was renewed on 29^th December 2015 on the meeting between BISTU President Wang Yongsheng and Chienkuo President Farn-shing Chen. Vice President Xu Baojie hosted the meeting and signing ceremony.  

President Wang Yongsheng extends warm welcome to President Farn-shing Chen and thanks him for successively sending student teams participating in BISTU-host 2015 North China Five Provinces University Students Robot Competition. The long established friendship between BISTU and Chienkuo leads to frequent and close exchanges and collaboration. Both institutions see growing fruits of cooperation. Wang Yongsheng hopes the two institutions view agreement renewing as a new opportunity of promoting collaboration to new stages.   

President Farn-shing Chen expresses that North China Five Provinces University Students Robot Competition, with its well-sounded organization and high level competition, has become one of the most accepted contests at Chienkuo. He hopes the two institutions could expand cooperation. He points out that in view of the features and strengths of Chienkuo in the field of Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing, two institutions could explore more on collaboration.   

Following the signing ceremony both institutions conduct discussion on new projects of collaboration. Chienkuo delegation introduces the newly-established cross-disciplinary programs like robot, smart operations, commodities design with cultural innovation, etc. BISTU Dean of School of Information Management Li Chen and Dean of School of Electromechanical Engineering Huang Min respective introduce the schools and possible areas of cooperation. Details on exchanges and communication in Chienkuo newly-established programs are also discussed and both agree to appoint specially assigned staff to be responsible for implementation.  

The meeting and signing ceremony is also attended by Dr. Lin Kuo-shing, Director of Cross-strait Affairs, Dr. Lin Zixiong, Center for Exchange with the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao, and Dr. Lu Jing, Director of BISTU Office for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs.
