Beijing, 16th January　2024 (BISTU)---  The signing ceremony on strategic cooperation between BISTU and Zhangjiakou held on 16th January 2024 successfully completed. Aiming at optimizing educational resources allocation in areas around Beijing, exploring the effective models for municipality-supervised universities to support social and economic development in areas around Beijing, and boost Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development with strengths in education, science and technology, and talents, the Agreement was witnessed by Secretary Xie Jiangling of CPC BISTU Committee, President Guo Fu, Secretary Zhao Wenfeng of CPC Zhangjiakou Municipal Committee, Secretary-general Chen Chong of CPC Zhangjiakou Municipal Committee, Vice Mayor Yan Liyan of Zhangjiakou Municipality, Second-tier Inspector Wang Dongjiang of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and Second-tier Inspector Hou Jianguo of Hebei Provincial Education Department. The Signing ceremony was chaired by Mayor Li Keliang of Zhangjiakou Municipality.  

Xie Jiangling addressed the signing ceremony. On behalf of BISTU, he extended thanks to Zhangjiakou for active cooperation and thorough preparations. He expressed that Zhangjiakou has seized the key opportunities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development and attached great importance to development of big data. It was in line with the academic strengths of BISTU. Recent years have seen BISTU’s achievements and efforts in serving strategic development of Beijing, contributing to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, and meeting the demand of advanced high-grade precision industries in Beijing. Signing the agreement was a new starting point for the University to work together with local government for future development. It was also a strategic move of the University in exploring effective ways to support social and economic development in areas around Beijing and serving the national strategy of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development. It was hoped that both parties would share resources, strengthen interconnectivity, and build a community of shared future for all-around, multi-layer, and multi-field cooperation between the two parties. Cooperative achievements of higher quality would be made via more effective cooperation and then we would make greater contributions to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development. Xie Jiangling said. 

Zhao Wenfeng addressed the signing ceremony and commented that Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei jointly served as one of the three major sources of high quality development in China. We were expected to play a leading and exemplary role in coordinated innovation, industrial cooperation, and self-reliance in high-level science and technology. As an important part of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, Zhangjiakou should better utilize the strengths in resources. With long history and distinctive features in education, BISTU has made tremendous achievements in science and technology innovation. Both parties have found quite some areas suitable for cooperation. Signing the agreement was an actual move to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions when he inspected Hebei Province. It was also a concrete measure for both parties to boost coordinated innovation to achieve mutual development. It was hoped that both parties would innovate cooperative pathways, broaden areas of cooperation, and share fruits of cooperation to bring new momentum to science and technology innovation and to write a new chapter for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development.  

Vice President Xiao Zhisong signed the Agreement on behalf of BISTU.  

According to the agreement, both parties would center on the national strategy of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development to boost integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. In-depth cooperation would be conducted in the field of innovation, cultivation of talents of applied learning, joint-building of academic disciplines of strengths, key projects of science and technology, and commercialization of research achievements. It was aimed at bringing powerful drive to high-quality, big-stride development of Zhangjiakou, adding new momentum to enhancing the quality of talent cultivation at BISTU, and contributing to regional social and economic development.  

Prior to the agreement signing ceremony, Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu conducted survey at Huailai Vocational Education Center and Vocational Education Zone for Digital Service Base of Zhangjiakou
