Beijing, 16th March, 2016(BISTU) --- Upon invitation of School of Computer Science, Dr. Mattias Wecksten of Halmstad University delivered Digital Forensics for undergraduates from 7th to 16th March 2016.

The two week teaching falls into three sections: theoretical lectures, experiments, and practice. The School particularly arranged Associate Professor Shi Yunmei as the assistant, together with two students--- who have studied in Sweden--- as experiment assistants.
In theoretical lecture section, Prof. Mattias offered an introduction to origin, development and latest progress of digital forensics, followed by detailed lectures covering principles, systems, and relating tools of digital forensics.
The experiment section covered four experiments, including disk mirroring, analysis on MBR, analysis on VBR, and analysis on disk boot, which enhanced students’ understanding of theoretical knowledge.

The practice section was conducted in teams, with four or five students in a team who is required to realize a tool related to disk operation by using advance programming language. With the 12 different topics carefully organized and prepared by Prof. Mattias, the teams could choose anyone at their will. Frequently seen were discussions between Prof. Mattias and the teams.

And in the end each team were to write a report and make a presentation for their projects.

Students expressed that this module has brought a lot into their studies. And some hoped that they would have the opportunity of learning with Halmstad University.

Lectures delivered in this way not only deepens long-established relationship between the two universities but also enriches forms of collaborative education, which further consolidates foundation for cooperation of advanced levels.
