Beijing, 20th September 2023 (BISTU)--- The Beijing training session of the 6th SFLEP Cup Competition for Cross-cultural Competence of College Students was successfully organized at Xiaoying Campus of BISTU on 17th September 2023. The Training Session attracted more than 130 contestant students and supervising teachers from 31 universities in Beijing. 　 

Keynote speeches were delivered by Professor Zhang Xihua, Dean of School of English Language, Literature and Culture at Beijing International Studies University and Deputy Director Wang Dongmei of Shanghai Foreign Languages Education Press (SFLEP) respectively on “Cultivation and improvement of cross-cultural awareness and qualities” and “New approaches to cross-cultural competences as support for high-quality talent cultivation”. Experiences were shared by associate professor Yi Han of Faculty of Foreign Studies at Beijing Language and Culture University and the first prize winner of the finals of the 5th SFLEP Cup. Executive Vice Dean Zhu Anbo of BISTU School of Foreign Studies offered summary speech and announced that Beijing section competition would be held at Taihanglu Campus on 28th and 29th October 2023.  

Guided by the philosophy of the 20th National Congress of CPC and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and aiming at implementing a series of initiatives on educational modernization and English teaching at universities, SFLEP Cup Competition for Cross-cultural Competence of College Students was to facilitate talent cultivation at universities and provide a platform of exchange in the field of cross-cultural communication and communication for faculties and students.
