Beijing, 8th June, 2017 (BISTU)--- Honorary Professor certificates are presented to three experts of Baden-Wuerttemberg , Germany on the meeting between BISTU President Wang Yongsheng and VPs Xu Baojie and Chen Gang and Baden-Wuerttemberg delegation who are at BISTU to attend China-Germany Smart City Conference. Vice President Xu Baojie announces the decisions on the ceremony hosted by Vice President Chen Gang. 　　

On behalf of BISTU, Wang Yongsheng extends the warmest welcome to Baden-Wuerttemberg delegation and offers a brief introduction to researches at BISTU with regard to smart city construction. He points out that informatization is the key feature as well as future direction of a smart city. The feature of BISTU is in compliance of this. The precious opportunity that China-Germany Smart City Conference is held at BISTU will further enhance research in relating fields at the University. And BISTU is honored to have three German experts join in as honorary professors, which will promote powerful combination between BISTU and German higher educational institutions and research institutes and enhance research competence of BISTU in smart city and other areas.  

The delegation is led by Dr. Hai Sun, Head for Greater China Region, Department of science, Research and the Arts, Baden-Württemberg International extends thanks to careful preparations of BISTU for this Conference. He points out that successful completion of the Smart City Conference is only a start of the cooperation between Baden-Wuerttemberg and BISTU in the area of smart city research as well as the beginning of more collaborative activities. Baden-Wuerttemberg has been dedicated to cooperation between the State and Chinese institutions and in the future will explore possibilities in sending researchers and experts to deliver lectures or conduct research cooperation at BISTU.   　　  

Xu Baojie announces the decision and appointment and introduces academic achievements of the three appointed experts, i.e., Dr. Chrine Etezadzadeh, President of Smart City Institute, Dr. Susanne Schatzinger , Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO, and Professor Christopher Stoller, Professor in Logistics Management, Department of Forwarding, Transportation & Logistics, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University.  

As the representative of three honorary professors, Dr. Chrine Etezadzadeh in her address expresses thanks to BISTU for the appointment. She says that we are in a world of challenges. Only the cooperation between different cultures could better respond to various challenges. The appointment lays solid foundation for cooperation between BISTU and institutions where honorary professors work. And all honorary professors are ready at any minute to visit BISTU again to actually contribute to teaching and research at the University.   

The meeting and ceremony is also attended by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department.
