Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng Inspect Online Teaching for New Semester

Beijing, 3rd March, 2021 (BISTU)— Secretary Wang Chuanliang of CCP BISTU Committee and President Wang Yongsheng, accompanied by directors of General Administration Office, Academic Affairs’ Office and Students’ Affairs Office, conduct inspection on online teaching and relating issues for the new semester.  

 

Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng firstly inspect multimedia control center in the main teaching building of Xiaoying Campus, review the report delivered by Academic Affairs’ Office on online teaching in the new semester, and conduct peer observation of online teaching. Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng positively comment that online teaching at BISTU has achieved great progress and emphasize that preparations on off-line teaching shall also be made for students returning to the school. The seamless connection between online and offline teaching shall be achieved.  

 

At Registration Center of Academic Affairs’ Office, Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng hold talks with faculties and staff of the Center and enquire about students’ consultation issues. It is hoped that faculties and staff of the Center keep working hard to provide due service and support for online teaching in the new semester.  

 

Then Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng visit Student Financing Center of Students’ Affairs Office and enquire about student financial aid and issues related to suspension and drop-out of school. They emphasize that attention shall be paid to demand of students in online teaching and offering help for students in their actual learning difficulties.  

 

 

In Center for Mental Health of Students’ Affairs Office, Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng hold talks with psychological consultants of the Center and inquires relating information on progress with psychological consultancy on campus. They stress that psychological health of students deserves enough attention. And possible psychological influence of online teaching shall be fully researched to help students in their mental health.  

 

Since the beginning of the new semester, online teaching has been conducted smoothly. The spring semester sees 739 courses delivered by 713 faculties. Facing with the situation that epidemic containment has been normalized, Academic Affairs’ Office has made thorough preparations for the new semester. The new version of educational administration system has just been launched and seamless connection between faculties and students has been achieved in respect of teaching information.  

The University has been constantly promoting reform on integration of online and offline teaching. Two online teaching platforms, i.e., classroom of diligence and honor, and classroom of raindrops, have been offered for students. During the winter holiday, all data has been sorted out for data exchange and sharing between online and offline teaching platforms. Round-the-clock technical support has been provided for faculties via Wechat in respect of delivering a course, uploading materials, live broadcast, and assessments. The University actively promotes integration of education and informatization and modernization of management system and management competence, which has greatly helped smooth operation of online teaching.
