Beijing, 22nd September 2023 (BISTU)---   Deputy Secretary Wang Dapin of the Education Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee visited BISTU for a field inspection on 22nd September. The Seminar was chaired by Secretary Xie Jiangling of CPC BISTU Committee.  

Wang Dapin expressed that BISTU had a long history in education with strong academic research competences. It has made tremendous progressed in recent years in party building, publicity and ideological & political education, academic research, academic discipline construction, and construction of the New Campus. With regard to future development, Wang Dapin discussed the following four aspects. First, it was necessary to strictly follow the school-running orientation and to lay focus on the demand of national development strategy and the goal of building Beijing into an international center of innovation for science and technology. Second, the fundamental mission in fostering virtue through education should be a focus in education, together with innovation in talent cultivation mechanism and improvement of the quality of talent cultivation. Third, working together with Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Changping District, BISTU was expected to strengthen international exchange and communication as well as media publicity to build a strong, sound image. The strengths of the University in information technology were to be better utilized to build a digitized ideological and political education. And fourth, various quality resources of the University were to be allocated and used in an optimal manner to make greater contribution to social and economic development of Beijing.  

On behalf of the University, Xie Jiangling extended warmest welcome to Wang Dapin and the delegation members and expressed sincere thanks to their support with development of BISTU. He pointed out that the University has been following the trend of our times and the school-running orientation of “building a high level university of applied learning with distinctive feature in information technology”. We have successfully accomplished three historical missions and made breakthroughs in a number of areas. Instructions and suggestions of Deputy Secretary Wang Dapin would be fully implemented by divisions and schools of the University to promote high quality development and to make greater contributions to Beijing.

Deputy Secretary Wang Wenjie offered an introduction to BISTU in respect of history, numbers of students and staff, talent cultivation, academic discipline construction, academic research, spatial development, etc., with emphasis on achievements in publicity, ideological and political education, cultural construction, and students’ affairs.  

Discussions on specific areas were also attended by Director Du Shizhi (member of Standing Committee of CPC BISTU Committee), Director Yang Hongbo of Postgraduate Office, Director Zhang Jingbo of Students’ Affairs Office, Dean Zhao Ailing of BISTU Marxism School as well as Directors Yu Hai, Deputy Director Ding Zhendong, Fourth-tier investigator Zhao Guowei, Jiang Nan, and Xin Xiaolei of Publicity and Education Department of the Education Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee.
