Beijing, 10th March, 2021 (BISTU)— BISTU successfully holds a working conference on classified university education on two venues: the main venue in the auditorium of Xiaoying Campus and the branch venue in International Academic Exchange Classroom. The Conference is addressed by Secretary Wang Chuanliang of CCP BISTU Committee and President Wang Yongsheng and is attended by all senior administrators and all directors, deputies, and deans of divisions, offices, departments, and schools.  

Wang Chuanliang stresses that the relationship between our goal of building a university of applied learning and the features in information technology shall be handled carefully. Wang Chuanliang points out that classified university education is in line with status quo and actual situation of the University. As a municipally-supervised university, BISTU offers a most complete system of academic programs in information technology. We have unique strengths in this regard. In the course of building a digital power (state mission) and promoting high-grade, precision and advanced industries (municipal mission)---particular digital economy and information industry, we are to lay emphasis on application, demand, and market. We are to cultivate more quality talents of applied learning for information industry and other industries. Wang Chuanliang stresses that we shall pay enough attention to commercialization of academic research achievements, fulfill our potentials, and actively seek our position in national key strategic demand and municipal strategy. We are convinced that BISTU will make even greater progress and contributions to the society.  

Wang Yongsheng reviews national and municipal policies and measures on promoting classified university education. He emphasizes that all students, faculties and staff must be fully aware of the important implications of classified university education. It is a mission to be integrated in the 14th Five Year Plan of the University. We shall focus on both commonalities and requirements on education classification so that we would be able to accurately carry out this course. Closely based on the 14th Five Year plan, we are to design a featured planning for classified university education and form a chart and paradigm for this course. Under the leadership of CCP BISTU Committee, we are to hold fast to the major guideline of education with focus on code of morality. The University will keep serving Beijing and following the pathway of featured development. And the University will coordinately handle the relationship between classified university education and long-term development.
