Beijing, 18th May, 2017 (BISTU)---Four faculties, i.e. Ma Jie of School of Automation, Mi Jie of School of Electromechanical Engineering, Li Xuehua of School of Information and Communication Engineering, and Yang Li of School of Electromechanical Engineering, are granted the awards of BISTU Prominent Teachers, after the process of individual  application, recommendation of departments, university evaluation, appraisal by teaching committee, and approval of president’s working conference.     

Public appraisal of teachers of prominence takes into consideration of teaching competence, research achievements, and peer observation of candidates. On public peer observation class held 26^th March, 10 candidates from 6 schools/divisions show their competences and skills in a 20-minute class which is marked by internal and external experts, peers, and students.  

BISTU Academic Affairs Office says that teachers of prominence are excellent models and leaders of teaching at the University. Particularly in this public appraisal, 81 faculties are attracted to the peer observation, including vice dean of some schools. It is firmly believed that appraisal of teachers of prominence raises enthusiasm of all faculties in devotion to teaching and enhances constant improvement of education quality at BISTU.
