Beijing, 27th February 2023 (BISTU)--- Secretary Wang Chuanliang of CPC BISTU Committee, accompanied by Deputy Secretary Zhou Zhicheng of CPC BISTU Committee, Vice President Fang Deying, Secretary Chen Qinghua of Discipline Inspection Committee of CPC BISTU Committee, Vice President Yu Shijie, Vice President Chen Xin, and Vice President Ye Xiangzhong, conducted inspection on preparations for the new semester on 27th February 2023.  

Wang Chuanliang inspected Information Building where School of Computer Science, School of Information and Communication Engineering, School of Information Management, and School of Economics and Management are based. Following talks with faculties and staff, Wang Chuanliang stressed that support facilities shall be ready as soon as possible to meet actual demands of faculties and staff while optimizing office environment and providing quality service for teaching and research.  

Then Wang Chuanliang inspected students’ hall of residence. Following the information provided on enrollment, accommodation, management, and facilities, he stressed that physical and mental health of students and their demands in living and learning deserved attention. And the red line with safety shall be safeguarded to create a better home away from home for students.　 

At the University Clinic, Wang Chuanliang reviewed the report on running of the University Clinic after moving into the New Campus and enquired about emergency treatment and routine medical treatment of faculties, staff, and students. He reiterated that the University Clinic was an important department in safeguarding health of faculties and students. Relocation in the New Campus could serve as a precious opportunity for the Clinic to improve comprehensive medical care and provide better medical services with all students, faculties, and staff.  

At Art and Science Building, Wang Chuanliang inspected class-teaching via the visualized intelligent teaching platform, reviewed the report on teaching arrangements in the new semester, and conducted teaching observation via electronic systems. He emphasized that training and service for teachers shall be enhanced and informationization and intelligentization be promoted for teaching to constantly, steadily improve the quality of teaching and learning.  

Wang Chuanliang also inspected supermarkets on campus, university canteens, etc. to learn about provision of daily supplies and foods. He said that diversified demands of faculties and students in this regard shall be satisfied. Food safety remained the most important of all issues. It was the fundamental mission to ensure that students and faculties were provided with healthy, safe foods.  

The inspection was also attended by deans of related schools and directors of related departments.
