Beijing, 4th November 2024 (BISTU)--- University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) delegation headed by Mark Daly, Director of International Affairs, visited BISTU on 4th November 2024. Vice President Xiao Zhisong met with the delegation.

On behalf of the University, Xiao Zhisong extended warm greetings to the delegation and introduced recent progresses of the University in respect of approval of new qualifications for conferring master and doctoral degrees, new campus construction and relocation, industry-education integration, and digital technology & AI-based education. Xiao Zhisong pointed out that UMKC is one of the closest friends of BISTU. It was expected that both institutions would strengthen interaction and communication, expand the scope and scale of cooperation, and strengthen faculty exchange and communication. He added that BISTU embraces students from every corner of the world inclusive of UMKC students and will offer them a journey of discovery and engagement.

Following an introduction to UMKC, Mark Daly spoke highly of BISTU students’ performance at UMKC. BISTU is one of the best global partners of UMKC. Quality services and scholarship would be provided with BISTU students for their learning at UMKC. He expressed that UMKC would like to expand the scale of students exchange and actively explore faculty exchanges.

Consensus was reached between both institutions on joint running short and long-term educational programs, followed by discussions on exploration of future cooperation in the field of business and management.

UMKC delegation offered seminars of learning abroad and exchange programs for students of School of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Automation, School of Computer Science, School of Management Science and Engineering, and Business School.

UMKC delegation members included Rebecca Diemer, Director of Academic Affairs and Strategic Initiatives of the Office of the Provost, Huan Ding, International Program Principal of School of Science and Engineering, and Associate Dean Arif Ahmed of Henry W. Bloch School of Management. The meeting and discussion were joined by directors and deans of International Cooperation Department, International Education School, School of Automation, School of Management Science and Engineering, and Business School.
