Beijing, 24th May, 2017 (BISTU)—Opening ceremony of International Cultural Week of Fist Campus Culture and Art Festival at BISTU, hosted on Xiaoying Campus, welcomes Chairman Wang Chuanliang, President Wang Yongsheng, Vice President Wang Xiuyan, Deputy Director General Su Bensheng of Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Deputy Director Jia Wenjie of International Management Division of Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Deputy Director Ji Jin of International Exchange and Cooperation Department of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and Vice President Xu Baojie who hosts the ceremony.    

International week starts with songs and dances of students from all around the world. In his address, Wang Chuanliang points out that almost 95% of BISTU international students are from countries along the routes of the Belt and Road Initiative. It is our feature as well as our strength. The University will fully consider demand on talents required by interconnectivity of countries along the routes of the Belt and Road Initiative and construct a broader platform for international communication. The Belt and Road Initiative crosses over a time span of thousands of years and connects hundreds of countries along the routes. International students, undoubtedly, are messengers of culture exchange along the routes. International students shall not only learn specialty knowledge but also experience traditional Chinese culture so that fine culture could be passed on from generation to generation. The Week commences 22^nd May through 26^th May, titled “Build World Dream on Silk Road with You”. It will display cultural features, life, and learning of BISTU international students in the form of salon, Chinese competition, culture show, and open day of the School.
