Beijing, 20th September 2024 (BISTU)--- Jointly sponsored by China Acrobats Association, China Youth Daily, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Changping District Government, and BISTU and co-organized by Beijing Acrobats Association and Changping District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the 12thChina Beijing International Magic Carnival and World University Magic Exchange Conference greeted its grand opening ceremony on 20th September at the University Gymnasium of Shahe Campus of BISTU. The opening ceremony was joined by Chairman Tang Yanhai of China Acrobats Association, Director Yu Junsheng of Beijing Municipal Government Information Office (Director of Beijing Radio and Television), President Liu Jian of China Youth Daily, Vice Chairman Ma Guoying of Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Secretary Gan Jingzhong of CPC Changping District Committee, Mayor Zhi Xianwei of Changping District Government, Director Zhu Guangtong of NPC Standing Committee of Changping District, Chairman Wang Yanqing of CPPCC of Changping District, President Guo Fu of BISTU as well as directors of departments of Changping District and BISTU senior administrators.

Centering on “Magic in Changping, Integration for future”, the Conference aimed at implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Party, serving development of Beijing in the new era, deepening university-local government cooperation, and building a platform of exchange for young people home and abroad to empower high quality development of Changping. Outstanding magic techniques were shown on the platform by magicians from China, Germany, the US, Korea, etc.

On behalf of BISTU, Guo Fu extended warmest congratulations to the Conference and paid tribute to friends of all social circles for their support and care with BISTU development. Guo Fu pointed out that BISTU, as a municipality-administered university based in Changping, took initiative in serving national and regional development. We have been following the general development principle of “establishing a better image, strengthening the cohesion, providing better service, and boosting development” and the pathway of feature-oriented development and high-quality development. Achievements have been made in all respects. He stressed that BISTU has become one of the leading local universities of applied learning in school-running orientation, school governance, development philosophies, and reform and innovation and an important force in serving national strategic development and regional economic development. Taking the opportunity of sponsoring the Conference, the University will bring its strengths in talent and sci-tech into full play, strengthen global exchange and cooperation, enhance innovation in cultural inheritance, and boost school-local government integration so as to make BISTU-marked contributions to opening up and development of Beijing and Changping District.

Zhi Xianwei addressed the Conference. Changping plays an important role in building Beijing into a national cultural center and a center of international exchange and communication. The Conference would be a platform for educational and sci-tech resources in Changping to facilitate integrated development of culture, tourism, agriculture, business, and sports. Zhi Xianwei stressed that outstanding performances of magicians would add glamour to Changping. All friends of literary and art circles and all college students are welcome to Changping to experience the profound culture here and to jointly build a better future.

Liu Jian in his address emphasized that China Youth Daily has been working closely together with Changping District and China Acrobats Association to build the Conference into an influential magic pageant in China and the world. It shows the cultural deposits and innovative vitality of Changping, builds a bridge for Sino-foreign exchange and communication among young people, and ignites the dreams of young magicians and young people who love magic shows. China Youth Daily would promote the Conference among people home and abroad to make magic performance accessible to a wider spectrum of audiences. He added.

Tang Yanhai commented that “Magic carnival” as a brand has been consolidated in Changping District and has boosted exchange and integration between magic cultures home and abroad. A platform is now ready for magicians and magic amateurs to share and review magic arts. Innovative development has been achieved, i.e., magic performance is being integrated into culture and tourism. He hoped that all audiences would enjoy the show.

The Map for Eight Tour Routes in Changping was jointly unveiled by Tang Yanhai, Yu Junsheng, Liu Jian, Zhi Xianwei, and Guo Fu, signaling the commencement of the Conference.

World-class magic performances were presented to audiences by magicians from all around the world. Innovative performances with a powerful and unconstrained style and a high degree of professional proficiency were all rare and wow the audiences. The charm of magic show was truly felt by everyone.

The Event will last for four days. In addition to the main venue at BISTU, sub venues in other areas of Changping District will also offer spectacular magic shows. Audiences would have the opportunity of enjoying a series of eye-catching performances.

As the second one sponsored by BISTU, the Conference is an important window for the University to establish a better image and enhance cooperation with partners as well as an important move in strengthening the cohesion and boosting development. Thorough preparations made by the University as one of the sponsors guaranteed success of the Event which will promote exchange and dialogue among young college students and promote high-quality development of Beijing and Changping District.
